FRIDAY NIGHT DRAMA: Click Your Heart

This week’s drama is one of the cutest and most creative I’ve watched in a while and one that I fell completely in love with as I watched mostly because it was just so darn fun!

Originally airing on Naver TV Cast, Click Your Heart is a choose-your-own-adventure drama in which you, as the viewer, gets to decide how the story’s heroine, Min Ah (Kwon Min Ah aka AOA’s Mina), reacts to the four adorable boys she meets as she settles into life at her new school. Being a transfer student to Neoz School (see where this is going???), Min Ah  finds it hard to make friends and fit in, mostly because she comes with a reputation for being incredibly accident prone. Not wanting to become a victim of Min Ah’s unlucky fortune, most kids at the school keep away from Min Ah, save four: Ro Woon, Cha Ni, Ju Ho and Da Won. Each of these boys has some connection with Min Ah, which we find out as the story progresses. Even better, the fate of each boy’s relationship with Min Ah rests in the viewers hands which means you never have to suffer from Second Lead Syndrome! WOOHOO!

Just so you know, this drama is ridiculously short. Like you can sit down and watch every possibly outcome to every possible story-line in less than two hours, which isn’t bad, but it doesn’t give you a lot of time to develop any sort of depth within the characters. Obviously. This whole drama is very much like a manga one-shot. Going into it you know you’re not going to have a lot of depth in either characters or story but you sit down and enjoy it anyway because it’s a fun way to distract yourself from life for a bit. And that’s exactly what Click Your Heart is; it’s a super fun way to get to know FNC’s Neoz trainees and distract yourself from life’s general insanity.

If you’re looking for depth or plot or any sort of real purpose beyond just having fun, you need to look somewhere else. However, if you’re at all into K-Pop, you love getting to know future idols and you enjoy a bit of light-hearted fun, you’re probably going to enjoy this one. I know I had a blast watching it and my only complaint is I’m no closer to picking a favorite out of the Neoz boys as I was going into this drama. Each of the boys had their own unique charms and I just couldn’t bring myself to decide between them. Of course this means I’m probably going to have some serious problems once this group debuts but really, let’s be honest here, I’m going to have problems no matter what. (Oh the joys of being slightly crazy!)

Personally, I enjoyed this idol-filled drama as much as I enjoy every idol-filled drama. It’s short, it’s fun and the fact you get to decide which way things are going to go between Min Ah and the boys gives the whole thing a refreshingly unique twist. Going into it, I knew it was all just a clever ploy to get my interest in Neoz and their upcoming debut piqued, and to that extent I’d call the drama a success. I’m now very much looking forward to Neoz debut but at the same time, I’m always looking forward to rookie debuts so maybe I’m not the best judge on this one.

Whatever the case may be, I know some of you have watched Click Your Heart already and I want to know what you thought of it. Did you enjoy the “choose your own adventure” aspect of the drama? Are you now looking forward to Neoz’s debut? Have you decided on a bias yet? You know I always love hearing from you so be sure to leave me a comment below!

    1. Yay! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Once you finish, you’ll have to let me know if you were able to pick a favorite. I’ve yet to commit to a single bias. I just can’t bring myself to do it! I think they all need my love. lol
