GOT7 and Super Junior D&E Round Out KCON 2017 LA Line-Up

Last week, KCON USA presented by Toyota, the world’s largest Korean culture convention and music festival, finalized the multi-night concert line-up for KCON 2017 Los Angeles with the addition of GOT7 and Super Junior-D&E. And OMG! I’m kinda having a bit of a moment here!

For those of you who might not know why I’m having a bit of a fangirl meltdown, let me help you out a bit…

Super Junior-D&E is the fifth official subunit of boy group Super Junior, formed by SM Entertainment in 2011. The duo consists of  (not surprisingly) Super Junior members Donghae and Eunhyuk. The duo released their debut digital single “Oppa, Oppa” and made their debut stage on Music Bank back in December of 2011. They released Japanese version of “Oppa, Oppa” in April 2012, which peaked at #2 on Oricon single daily and weekly charts. The duo then released their second Japanese single, “I Wanna Dance” and second Korean single, “Still You” in 2013. Super Junior-D&E The 1st Japan Tour kicked off in March of that year, after they released their first Japanese album, Ride Me. In 2015, Super Junior-D&E Asia Tour – Present was kicked off in June, going through 4 Asian cities, after the duo released their first Korean EP album, The Beat Goes On.

I kind of feel like GOT7 doesn’t really need much of an introduction but for anyone who might be super new to K-Pop, they are a seven-member boy group formed by JYP Entertainment. The members are JB, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom. They debuted with the their first EP in January 2014, which landed #1 on Billboard’s World Albums Chart and #2 on the Gaon Album Chart. GOT7 made their official music program debut performing their debut single “Girls Girls Girls” on Mnet’s M Countdown. They were awarded the “New Artist Award” at the 29th Golden Disc Awards and at the 24th Seoul Music Awards in January 2015. They were also awarded “China Goodwill Star” at the 29th Golden Disk Awards. In 2016, they were awarded “Worldwide Favorite Artist” at Mnet Asian Music Awards and “Best Worldwide Act” at MTV European Music Awards. In March 2017, GOT7 released their sixth EP , featuring the title track “Never Ever.” The album is the third and final part of the group’s ‘Flight Log’ series, and became their highest selling record with more than 300,000 copies sold. They were awarded “Artist of the Year” at 6th Gaon Chart Music Awards.
