K-POP ONE-STOP: December 31, 2016 – January 6, 2017

Oh glorious Friday! How happy I am that you are here! Actually, I’m more happy about the fact that I finally have time to sit down and write something! I tell ya, this past month or so has very nearly done me in! However, I did manage to survive (barely) and now I can attempt to settle back into some sort of normal routine. (Or as normal as anything ever gets in my zombie-filled world.)

Despite the fact I’ve been too busy to breathe for what feels like ages, I’ve been trying to keep up with all of the new music that’s come out since the start of the new year and OH MY GOODNESS! There’s been a lot! SEVENTEEN, SHINHWA, AOA, AKMU, DAY6, DIA, NCT 127… They’ve all released new music this past week and it’s all so good!

I’m completely in love with DAY6’s new track and even more in love with the fact that we’re going to get new music from them every month this year. *squee* NCT 127 has finally released a song worthy of standing next to “The 7th Sense,” which means I’ve been doing the happy dance of joy. Don’t get me wrong, it’s been fun listening to my munchkins sing along to “Fire Truck” and “Chewing Gum” (we can’t drive past a fire station without them shouting “사방차!”) but I’ve really needed something more from this group. Now that they’ve given us “Limitless” I’m happy. SHINHWA has proven, once again, that they’re the kings of sexy brooding with the release of “Touch.” Seriously, no matter how hard these younger groups try, they’ll never be able to match the sexy smolder that comes with age. On a totally different note, I decided to include the DiBL “Ringtone from Phonebox” because the description for the video was HILARIOUS! Trust me, you need to read the “How to enjoy this track” segment in this video’s description and the one below it… *falls over laughing* Oh, it’s stuff like this that makes life worth living!

But enough of my rambling… I hope you all had a very fantastic holiday season and that this new year brings you health and happiness and lots and lots of great new music!
