This past week brought with it a whole slew of new K-Pop music videos, several of which I’d been looking forward to with anxious anticipation, which is probably why I’m so excited to share this week’s playlist with you! (Seriously, I’m bouncing in my chair as I write this, I’m that giddy!)
I bet you’ll never guess which videos have instigated this latest, overwhelming rush of fangirl feels! Well, okay, you might have some idea. I mean I do kinda let my inner fangirl run freer that I probably should… ㅋㅋㅋ As you can probably imagine, I’ve been bouncing between VIXX’s “The Closer,” BASTARZ’s “Make It Rain,” and EXO-CBX’s “Hey Mama!” all week long. I wish I could commit to a single track or album but I really can’t. Each track speaks to a different part of my fangirl soul so I just keep loving them all. Of course there were way more videos released this week than just these three. Hyolyn’s track featuring Jay Park went up this week, as did Jay Park’s collaboration with Workmanship. BLACKPINK’s two new MVs also came out this week and they threw in a dance practice video, which is always appreciated. Taeyeon’s new solo, “11:11” also came out and there’s a new track from The K2 OST. (Woohoo!) I was rather intrigued by Boys24’s “E” MV. It felt very much like a cross between VIXX and 100% with a touch of MADTOWN, just for kicks. I’m not sure I can give it any points for originality but it did capture my attention so I guess that counts for something. Another track that caught my attention was 24Hours’ “Our Night.” The MV was delightfully cringe-worthy (I know that’s an odd combination but I found myself laughing as I cringed so how else can I describe it?) but the track itself was great. I’ll definitely look more into this band, but maybe I’ll steer clear of any other MVs.
