KCON USA, the world’s largest Korean culture convention and music festival, has recently announced that KCON 2017 NY, presented by Toyota, wrapped with an incredible number of records broken. Not only did the 3 year-old convention break records in number of attendees but in the number of performers, sponsors and partners as well. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, the number of concurrent live streams on its KCON.TV platform also smashed records, making this year’s NY leg of the convention a huge success. The entire convention, filled with workshops, panels, performances, and more, matched perfectly with this year’s banner theme – “Let’s KCON” – and I was there to experience it all! KCON 2016: Zombie’s Adventures in LA – Day 5, Part 1

Running on almost no sleep, Sunday was a bit rough but with enough coffee and wild fangirl emotions coursing through me, I managed to not only get through the day without falling over but even have enough energy left to squeal myself silly during the evening’s concert. KCON 2016: Zombie’s Adventures in LA – Day 3

You’d think that waking up before the sun every morning would start to wear on a person but for me it was… Oh who am I trying to kid here? Waking up every morning, hours before everyone else in the house was up, sucked. But it did provide me with some much-needed time to work so… Yay? (Hey, I’m trying to be optimistic here!) KCON 2016: WATCH OUT LA, THE ZOMBIE’S ON HER WAY!

la

Though it’s really hard for me to believe that in less than 24 hours I’ll be in LA, the truth is I will be and that means KCON 2016 LA is only a few days away. I’ve been trying really hard not to let my inner fangirl get the better of me these past few days and I think that (so far) I’ve done a pretty good job. Sure, I might be a little bit excited about the fact that I’m only days away from seeing so many of my beloved groups again… And I might be just a tad excited about being on so many panels this year (4, to be exact)… And maybe I’m just slightly excited about being able to spend the next few days with some of most favorite people in the world… But I really haven’t let all of that get to me too much…  I don’t think… Well… Maybe I have a little bit… Maybe… *ahem* Excuse me for a moment… Continue reading “KCON 2016: WATCH OUT LA, THE ZOMBIE’S ON HER WAY!”

KCON 2016: Zombie’s Adventures in New York – Days 3 & 4

With nothing official to do at KCON until that afternoon, I let myself sleep in a bit on Saturday morning. It was nice, not having to rush straight over to the Prudential Center and I especially enjoyed a nice, relaxing breakfast with my friend. Once properly caffeinated, we gathered up our things, checked out of the hotel and made our way back to Newark, ready to enjoy another Hallyu-filled day of fun. FROM CHICAGO TO KCON: ZOMBIE’S ADVENTURES IN L.A. – DAY 4

KCON 2014 4430

KCON 2014 1209Saturday. D-Day. KCON Day 1. Whatever you want to call it, I woke up the next morning with a stomach full of butterflies, more nervous than I had ever been before in my entire life. Looking back, I’m not even sure why I was such a nervous wreck but I was. I think it had a lot to do with the fact that I had psyched myself out so much over KCON that I was afraid I was going to be disappointed at the end of it all. (Thank goodness I was totally wrong on that score!) Too nervous to eat, drink, or do pretty much anything else, I got up, donned my VIXX G.R.8.U. cosplay costume (with all the checkers) and spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to figure out what to do with my hair. (Which ended up being not much because my hands were too shaky to handle anything but the most basic tasks.) At least I wasn’t alone in my suffering, Tanya was every bit as jittery as I was and we were in such an awful state that we rushed out of the hotel without grabbing breakfast or (gasp!) even coffee. (A mistake we would come to regret all. day. long.) Continue reading “FROM CHICAGO TO KCON: ZOMBIE’S ADVENTURES IN L.A. – DAY 4”
