TUNE OF THE WEEK: Zico and CNBLUE

You know that old saying, “when it rains it pours?” It’s a total cliché, I know, but it’s really the best way to describe the past week, especially in terms of new K-Pop releases. There have been so many great songs released over such a short period of time, it’s been impossible for me to choose a favorite. Of course I’m not going to complain about the deluge of great music because that would be stupid but it does make choosing a single tune to talk about rather difficult, which is why I’m going with two songs this week. TUNE OF THE WEEK: Megan Lee “8dayz”

3With so much sadness, anger, hurt and frustration in the world of K-Pop this week, I decided we needed a bright and happy Tune of the Week to cheer us up and make us all feel better and wouldn’t you know, Megan Lee has made her debut with a song that should do the trick. Bright, cheery and adorable, Megan Lee’s  “8dayz” is such a sweet, feel-good song, I was instantly inspired to make it this week’s featured tune.

TUNE OF THE WEEK: UglyPumpkin “From Yesterday”

7Once again, this past week has been a bit light on the K-Pop comebacks and debuts which is understandable, given the circumstance. While some may moan about the lack of new music, I’ve decided to embrace this slight hiatus as a way to highlight some of the awesome music that was sadly overlooked in the massive flood of K-Pop comebacks and debuts that we were blessed with earlier this year. For this week’s featured tune I’ve decided to focus my attention on a little-known hip-hop trio, known humbly as UglyPumpkin, who debuted in March with the totally adorable single “From Yesterday.” Continue reading “TUNE OF THE WEEK: UglyPumpkin “From Yesterday””
