Hello dear ZombieMamma readers,
I’m hijacking this website once again simply because I can… and because it needs to be done since I get to see everything that goes into all the work that ZombieMamma does (not only for this site, but also for other sites that she writes for). Also, simply for the fact that I also do all of this myself for my own site, as well as DramaFever and others, so I know that she’s going out of her mind while trying to keep as quiet as possible.
There is a fine line when it comes to all reviews. Seven times out of ten, not everyone will agree with your opinion, but that’s completely all right. You know what’s not all right? Lashing out. All bloggers are more than open to the opinions of their readers as long as you can apply your feedback in a constructive way, without name-calling or other scenarios such as, “You suck. Everyone else should go to this website because I think they’re better.”
Good for you. I’m happy you read a wide range of sites to find a range of opinions. That is a wonder of the internet. You can find fans who love the same things you do and those who do not. I just want to know if you realize how much time and effort bloggers/vloggers put in to their work? The 5 minutes it takes you to scroll through a post took us probably 3-4+ hours to write. We have to watch the episodes, figure out what we want to highlight, research names or actors, writers, directors, write the post out, get screen shots, format and post. Is it hard? Absolutely not. However it is time consuming and takes dedication to decide you are going to stick with a series, even one you do not particularly like.
There is something to be said about having a personal site though. It’s hard to put opinions out there, even with the mask of the internet to protect us. This is the place we can write our own actual opinions that we probably couldn’t if we are covering something for another. We expect that people will not agree. We expect feedback. We love that you talk to us because it drives us to work harder even if you don’t agree because we want to evolve and be better. If you disagree with us, tell us why. You may be able to enlighten us to something we somehow missed along the way and we’ll go back to review.
Honestly, we just ask that you be respectful. If you can’t be respectful, then be prepared for any response you get. Sometimes you won’t hear back from the author, but from other bloggers or fans that love this site and, unlike ZombieMamma, we don’t have to be nice to you. And you don’t get to act surprised by the response you get. If you can’t say something nicely or at least provide constructive criticism in your sometimes-hate-laced comments, please just forego leaving your opinion at all.
L might delete my little rant here because she has no idea I’m writing this, but I just ask everyone to take a breath. At the end of the day, it’s just a TV show. I know, shocking right?! If you have anything to say in response, feel free to bombard me rather than the ZombieMamma. I will get the comments here or you can attack my site and Twitter.
Have a fantastic weekend everyone.
