After what feels like a dark and lonely eternity, the boys of B.A.P are back, making their return with a song so perfectly fitting to them and all they’ve been through, I can’t listen to it without shedding a few tears. (Okay, so maybe it’s been more than a few tears…)
I’m not gonna lie. I’ve been waiting for this comeback for what feels like a thousand lifetimes. I know it really hasn’t been all that long, when compared to the vast expanse of eternity, since B.A.P last made a comeback but with all of the uncertainty that came with their legal proceedings with TS, the time without these boys seemed to drag on forever. When news came that things had been settled enough to allow the boys to make a comeback, I was ecstatic. I counted down the days til their comeback. I died a thousand deaths as each new teaser was released and I cried buckets of tears when I watched “Young, Wild & Free” for the first time.
With so many different styles on their last full-length album, First Sensibility, it was hard to figure out which style they’d make their comeback with. Obviously it would have to feature Yongguk and Zelo’s rap, Daehyun and Youngjae’s powerful voices, Jongup’s angelic tones, and Himchan’s fantastically growl-y voice giving the song that gruff edge. To incorporate so many elements in a single song would be no small undertaking but somehow, that’s exactly what B.A.P has done with “Young, Wild & Free.” Going for the edgier rock sound, B.A.P has made their comeback with the very sound I love the most; which would explain why I’ve had this song on repeat since Sunday. I’m so completely addicted, it’s not even funny. Then again, I’ve always been that way with B.A.P’s music so really, this doesn’t come as any sort of surprise.
There’s not much for me to say about the video for “Young, Wild & Free” other than it’s so very B.A.P and I love it. Each member is given their moment in the spotlight. Each member makes me cry. Zelo’s not a baby any more. Himchan just needs to go away. Yongguk’s smile still makes the world a better place. Jongup is far too gorgeous for words. Daehyun’s voice still makes me melt. Youngjae’s voice still makes me cry. I love watching the boys have fun together. I love seeing them in suits. I want one of those cars. ASDFGHJKL ZELO! NOOOOOO! That pretty much sums up my thoughts on the entire video. (Just throw a whole lot of shrieks, squeals and tears in there and you’ve got my reaction every time I watch this MV.)
Obviously, I’m super happy B.A.P is back. I’ve missed seeing them on my timelines. I’ve missed squealing over them with my friends. I’ve missed their music taking over my iPod. (Though they didn’t ever really go away there, I’ve just missed adding new tunes to my B.A.P playlist.) I’ve missed a lot but now they’re back and I’m dying from an OD of happy feels. It’s not a bad way to go, I must say.
So tell me, what do you think of B.A.P’s comeback? Are you a fan of the group? The song? The video? The abs? Oh, no wait! That’s not where I was going with this! But since we’re there… Okay, no. I’d better stop here and let you do the talking before I get myself into trouble. So anyhoo… You know I always love hearing from you so be sure to let me know what you think of this week’s tune by leaving me a comment below!
