Block B is back and as fantastic as ever with the release of their fourth mini album H.E.R and the music video for their title track, “HER” so naturally, I had to make them my Tune of the Week.
Having recently completely their first U.S. tour (which you can read all about here) Block B has wasted no time, jumping right back into the spotlight with the release of their fourth mini album H.E.R. Produced by Zico himself, H.E.R features the title track, “HER” and two new songs “Rare Woman” and “Hug Me Now” as well “Jackpot” and a rough version of “Very Good” (which is phenomenal, by the way).
Not as edgy as some of Block B’s previous works, “HER” is a lighthearted surf-poppy sort of tune that still manages to embrace all of the whackadoodle craziness that Block B is known and loved for which, in my opinion, is what makes this song so darn good. It’s nice to take a break from the more in-your-face tunes like “Jackpot” and see these guys at their fun-loving best which is exactly what the video for “HER” delivers.
Between the insane amount of fun the boys of Block B look like they’re having in this video and the color of P.O’s hair, I’m loving “HER” just as much, if not more, than I loved “Jackpot” (and that’s saying something)! The only down-side to featuring this song as my Tune of the Week is now I’m even more sad that I didn’t get the chance to catch them during their recent U.S. tour. (What was I thinking!?!) *sigh* I guess the only thing I can do is listen to “HER” one more time and hope they come back soon!
So tell me, what are your thoughts on Block B’s latest release? Do you love “HER” as much as I do or were you hoping for something a with a bit more edge? I’d love to know what you think so be sure to leave me a comment below!
