TUNE OF THE WEEK: CNBLUE “Go Your Way”

go your way yonghwa

Just over a week from their appearance at KCON 2014, CNBLUE is back with a new Japanese single and whether it’s because I’ve got KCON on the brain or because I will forever harbor a crush on Yong Hwa, I just had to make “Go Your Way” my Tune of the Week.

go your way jungshinYou know, usually when I write one of these Tune of the Week posts, I try to give you a little information on the band and what they’re currently working on and promoting, as well as my thoughts on the song itself and its video, but I’ve been fighting off a cold for four days now and I’m just so stinking tired that I can’t really think straight anymore. go your way minhyukWith that being the case I really can’t think of much to say other than to point out that anytime CNBLUE releases a new song, you can bet your boots it’s going to be good and “Go Your Way” is no exception. Embracing their rock roots, “Go Your Way” is yet another example, in an ever-growing list of songs, that illustrate how incredibly talented and amazing the four members of CNBLUE are and I have to say, I’m thoroughly impressed by the songs these boys have released of late. I don’t know how they’ve done it but everything they’ve released this year has been incredible and I cannot wait to see these boys perform live! Six days and counting! Woot!

go your way jonghyunSo tell me, what do you think of CNBLUE’s newest release? Do you love it as much as I do or not so much? What do you think of the video? I know I didn’t really touch on the video but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t love to hear your thoughts. On the contrary, I’d love to know what you’re thinking so be sure to leave me a comment below!

  1. I, too, have a crush on Yong Hwa, so I enjoy any video with him in it. (We fondly refer to him as “young Wow” in our house.) I still can’t imagine any woman choosing someone other than him in a drama, but I’ve been disappointed twice!

Okay, back to the group and the video. The music was catchy and I really enjoyed the song. The video was weird. I imagine the set designer saying, “Order 2,000 rolls of Reynolds wrap, guys. We’ve got a set to cover.” Then the casting director says, “And let’s get a bunch of punks who will fight without bumping into cute guys playing instruments, and who don’t mind if no one ever sees their faces.” It looked like a cheap diorama a child would make for school. Bizarre. This is another song that I’d gladly add to my playlist, but don’t think I’ll be watching the video very often.

    1. Yeah, I feel the same way about the video. It doesn’t make any sense to me. I suppose there could be some symbolism in there somewhere but if there is, it’s lost on me. The song, however, is quite fantastic and I will happily be adding it to my playlist. As for the Yong Hwa dramas and disappointment… Well that’s a whole other discussion! All I can say is, his Three Musketeers drama had better be amazing!
