TUNE OF THE WEEK: CNBLUE “Radio”

Radio 5

CNBLUE has done it again, releasing yet another Japanese single so amazing, I had no choice but to make it my “Tune of the Week”.

Radio 1

Gearing up for the release of their third Japanese album, CNBLUE released the PV for “Radio” last night and oh my goodness, it’s absolutely everything you’d expect a song from CNBLUE to be! The song embraces CNBLUE’s rockier side while at the same time, highlighting the vocal skills of the band which is probably why every time I listen to it I find myself getting weak in the knees. What can I say, I’m a sucker for a good rock song and “Radio” is. so. good!

Radio 2

I’ll be the first to admit that the video for “Radio” is rather underwhelming but if you think about it, is spending four minutes watching CNBLUE rock out really that bad? I’d rather watch them play their instruments than watch them chase after some girl but maybe I’m just crazy like that.

Radio 4

“Radio” is one of eleven tracks on CNBLUE’s upcoming Japanese album Wave, as is “Go Your Way”, which, if you remember was featured as a “Tune of the Week” earlier this month. Just knowing these two songs are going to be part of this album is enough to make me excited for the album’s release which, thank goodness, isn’t that far off. If you’re lucky enough to live some place where you can actually go to a store and buy a copy of this album, you can look for Wave to hit the shelves September 17. For the rest of us, finding this album will probably require some mad interweb skills but that’s nothing new for we, the international BOICE of the world.

Radio 3

So tell me, what do you think of “Radio”? Is it every bit as wonderful as I think it is or do you feel it’s missing something? Any thoughts on the PV? How about the imminent release of Wave? Are you excited for the release of the album? I always want to know what you’re thinking so be sure to leave me a comment below!

  1. I just love CNBLUE which makes it hard for me to be objective since the “fan girl” in me is out of control. I prefer this video to the previous one that had an aluminum foil-covered set with strange martial arts fights going on around the band. I, like you, am VERY happy to just watch the boys jamming out without other distractions. The music from both new songs is very catchy and I’m impressed once again by this band.

    1. I feel the very same way. I really can’t get enough of these boys and I wish it was easier to get my hands on their Japanese releases! I have a feeling their new album is going to be amazing (these first two songs have been anyway) and you can bet your boots I’m going to be looking for a way to bring this one home. As for objectivity, there pretty much isn’t any when it comes to me and CNBLUE. I try but most of the time, I fail miserably. They’re the group that brought me into the world of K-Pop so they hold a special place in my heart. I will always love them. Haha! I do like this video more than I liked the video for “Go Your Way” but sadly, I found this one also lacking. I don’t have to have videos tell a story or anything but there needs to be something in them that catches my eye and makes them stand out. As much as I love Yong Hwa and the rest of the boys, watching them perform on set just isn’t as thrilling as watching them live and there’s nothing else in that video to capture my attention so it really falls flat. Good thing the song itself is amazing enough to more than make up for the video. Honestly, I have no idea how CNBLUE keeps coming up with such incredible songs but they do and I love them for it!
