I’ve been so crazy busy this week, I’ve barely had time to think, let alone write, but with CNBLUE’s recent comeback, I had to make time to squee over them, at least a little!
As every BOICE knows, CNBLUE released their 6th EP, BLUEMING, earlier this week as well as a video for the album’s title track, “You’re So Fine.” In true CNBLUE fashion, the boys have come back with a fresh sound that both delights the ears and stirs the heart.
I don’t know what it is about CNBLUE but every time they make a comeback I fall in love with them all over again. There’s just something magical about Yong Hwa’s voice, it lures me back in and before I know it, I’m swooning so hard I fall out of my chair. Granted, it doesn’t take much to make me swoon (especially not when it comes to Yong Hwa) but still…
I’m very much in love with “One Fine Day,” as it’s everything a spring comeback should be. It’s sweet, it’s catchy and the addition of the horns gives it that slightly big band-ish feel which, along with that little touch of jazzy scat thrown in is just… Ugh! It’s musical perfection.
As for the MV, I think it’s cute enough, in its own way. I love that the boys spend a good deal of time being all adorable as they try to play it cool in front of the lady. I just wish these poor guys could each have their own girl instead of having to watch Yong Hwa get the only girl in the end. I mean, I get why she chose him and all but Jungshin, Minhyuk and Jonghyun deserve some love too! (Anyone else out there feel a need to volunteer as tribute?)
I’m super happy with this comeback (as I am with every CNBLUE comeback) and I can’t wait to add the album to my collection. (Darn you bills and your incessant need to be paid before I buy albums!) I’ve heard enough good things about this one to know it’s going to be topping my playlist for a very long time. Or at least until VIXX makes their comeback… But let’s not go there just yet.
