TUNE OF THE WEEK: GOT7 “A”

group

After teasing us for an entire week with adorable videos, a showcase and a comeback stage on M! Countdown, GOT7 has finally released their second mini album, GOT♡  and their title track “A” is so fantastic, I just had to make it my Tune of the Week.

Composed by JYP’s CEO, Park Jin Young, “A” is an up-beat, slightly funky hip-hop/R&B track that softens the boy’s tougher image a bit while embracing all of the adorable cockiness that defined their debut song, “Girls, Girls, Girls.”  As catchy as “A” is on its own, it’s the video for the song that really puts this track over the top.

group 3Watching JB, Jr., Mark, Jackson, Youngjae, BamBam and Yugyeom tease the girl they like, with ridiculously adorable smiles on their faces is almost too much cute for one fangirl to handle but that’s only the beginning of this cute-fest. The concept of the video, the choreography and the way GOT7 conveys all of the cocky confidence a group of adorable young men in their position would have, combine to make this video a real treat. Of course being addicted to GOT7’s reality program, I★GOT7, at the moment, I could just be in fangirl mode as I watch this MV but I have a feeling I’m not the only one loving this comeback.

So tell me, after watching this video, am I justified in my love of this song or have I simply let my fangirl side run wild? I’d love to know what you think of “A” so be sure to leave me a comment below!

Oh! And on a totally fangirly side note, isn’t Mark crazy, floppy hair fantastic? ^^

  1. These boys are just adorable – and their music is fun! My daughter’s friends are accustomed to us doing the hand gestures to “Girls, girls, girls they love me” when they are in the car with us. We can’t help ourselves. Even my 16 year old son joins us now! Everything Got7 sings is catchy and makes you want to move.

The scene in the grocery store where they all peer out behind the girl and the grocery cart is my favorite. I’ve spent a lot of time in grocery stores over the past few years as a mom, and I can’t say I’ve ever experienced anything quite like it – but I’m not giving up hope! Maybe it truly happens in Korea? If so, I need to move NOW!

If we’re going fangirly – Mark’s moptop is definitely fantastic. He’s a real cutie. I’m not really digging the black hair on JB, but his smile is so amazing that I’ll just deal with it. I’m also missing BamBam’s shock of different colored hair. It had more personality that the solid blonde. But let’s face it, you couldn’t make these boys look bad if you tried, so I’m just nitpicking here. 🙂

    1. Hooray! Hooray! A fellow mom to fangirl with! Hello and welcome chingu! 🙂

It’s so nice to know I’m not the only one loving the adorableness of GOT7. Their style and sound is such a fun combination of playfulness, attitude and sweetness that it’s impossible for me to not love them! I’ve been watching episodes of I★GOT7 with my 10 year old daughter and she loves them almost as much as I do. We sit and fangirl over how cute the boys are in each episode and laugh at all of their shenanigans.

You know, I was missing BamBam’s purple hair at first but the more I see of the blonde, the more I like it. I think it looks good on him, even if it does lack the originality of his debut look. I’m totally with you on JB’s hair though, I don’t think the dark color suits him as well as the light. He looks a bit pale now though, like you said, his smile is so amazing you tend to forget everything around you when you see it. Or maybe that’s just me… I think Yugyeom is, as always, absolutely adorable in this video and I find myself slowly forgetting he’s the baby of the bunch and then I watch him just being himself and I totally remember that he’s still just a kid and wonder if I can find a way to set him up with my eldest daughter… Ack! What kind of mom am I? lol I think Mark’s hair is very near perfection but I’ve always bee a sucker for floppy moptops. Honestly, all of them look amazing (as always) and I think this concept fits them very well. I really can’t wait to see what they release next! 😀
