TUNE OF THE WEEK: N.Flying “Lonely”

group 1

Ever since the first teasers for N.Flying’s comeback were released, I’ve been in a constant state of nervous excitement. Now that they’ve made their official comeback, I’m not sure if my tears are an overwhelming rush of joy at them promoting again or because this song is so flipping beautiful it makes my heart hurt. Maybe it’s a combination of the two… Whatever the reason for my fangirl tears, here I sit, ready to squee my heart out over N.Flying’s new track, “Lonely.”

The title track off their new single album, Lonely, “Lonely” is a beautifully emotional song depicting the pain of a breakup. 2While the opening notes of the piano bring thoughts of label-mate CNBLUE to mind, Seung Hyub’s rapping immediately sets the track apart from N.Flying’s talented label-mates. It’s this use of rap mixed with rock that gives N.Flying their own unique flair and it’s what I was most curious about when they first started teasing us with this comeback.

The rap-rock mix worked well with N.Flying’s debut, “Awesome,” but it did leave me wondering where they’d take things from there. 4The combination of teasers and the season (fall always means more emotional, brooding music) made me think this comeback would be more along the lines of “Heartbreak” but not even I could have imagined a track as beautiful as “Lonely.” This track has blown away all of my expectations and I couldn’t be happier. *sobs* (See!?! There are those darn tears again!)

I’m completely in love with this song and I can’t wait to get my hands on the full album. (Darn you iTunes and your slowness!) I know there are only 3 tracks on Lonely but I’m okay with that. I’ll take a truck-load of single albums if it means N.Flying keeps making music. While I wait for iTunes to catch up, I’ll just sit here, watching the MV for “Lonely” over and over and over again.group 2

So tell me, what do you think of N.Flying’s new track? Do you love “Lonely” as much as I do or were you hoping for something more along the lines of “Awesome?” You know I always love hearing from you so be sure to let me know what you’re thinking by leaving me a comment below!
