As I’m sure you all know, with the recent, tragic ferry accident in South Korea, the entertainment industry has all but come to a stand-still which means picking a new song for my “Tune of the Week” has become something of a challenge. Because I would hate to come across as insensitive and/or uncaring, I’ve decided to go back and feature an “older” tune that I didn’t get a chance to feature at the time of its release in the hopes that we can find something to make us smile in a time where smiles are difficult to come by.
That being said I’ve decided to go with SPEED’s “Zombie Party!” for this week’s feature tune because what inspires a smile more than a group of adorable “zombies” dancing around an abandoned warehouse? (Nothing, right? I knew it!) Released on March 17, 2014 “Zombie Party!” kind of got lost in the fantastic wave of K-Pop comebacks and new releases that filled the month of March, which is a bit sad because it’s a super fun song. Don’t believe me? Go ahead and watch the MV, I dare you! Or are you afraid of a few zombies?
So I suppose I could very well be the only person to find this MV to be ridiculously entertaining (perhaps it’s due to our zombie camaraderie) but I seriously can’t get enough of “Zombie Party!” The song itself is catchy, has a great beat and just imagining this zombie dance being done as a K-Pop flash mob makes me smile. (Wouldn’t it be so much fun?) Of course the very mild zombie concept in this MV also makes me smile because let’s face it, these boys are anything but zombie-ish. 
Honestly I think they look like they’ve just walked away from some street fight than actual zombies but hey, if you’re that cute, you can get away with pretty much anything. Right? If you’re not familiar with SPEED you should take the time to check them out because I think they’re definitely worth your while. They’ve released several new songs in the past few months which you can find on YouTube or by scrolling through my K-Pop One-Stops. In the meantime, I give you full permission to watch “Zombie Party!” over and over again because that’s what I’ve been doing. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some dance moves to learn… “We zombie paaaaaaaaaarty!”
