ZOMBIE’S DRAMA RAMBLINGS: The Struggles of Impossible Love, Pt. 3 – Cinderella and Four Knights

best-scene-yet

The last in this string of impossible love ramblings is all about Eun Ha Won and the unique situation she finds herself in, living at Sky House with the three Kang cousins. (Oh to be so lucky!)

sorry-isnt-good-enough

As is the case in every drama where a down-and-out-yet-surprisingly-plucky heroine finds herself suddenly surrounded by a group of gorgeous men who all find themselves attracted to her (in one way or another), there’s a lot of potential for love interests here and personally, I’m very okay with that. Each cousin brings an interesting dynamic to life at Sky House and each provides Ha Won with very different, but much-needed, relationships. Which is probably why I love them all so much… They’ve become her family and she’s become their home.

cmon-jerk-stop-being-so-thick

Fantastic as it has been, watching Ha Won transform the Kang cousins into a family, it’s been even more fun watching these boys work through their feelings for our plucky heroine. There’s nothing I love more than watching a tough, cranky, wounded, bad boy with a heart of gold fall for the sweet-but-won’t-take-any-crap leading lady, so naturally, I’m all for watching Ji Woon fall for Ha Won. But I also harbor a weakness for the cocky, spoiled brat of a boy who slowly transforms into a decent human being as he torture/pursues the story’s heroine; which means I’ve been having a whole lot of fun watching Hyun Min try to wile his way into Ha Won’s affections. Then there’s the adorable sweetheart who innocently falls for the girl whom he befriends almost immediately… Oh the poor boy doomed to be friend-zoned forever! I can’t help but give him all the love our leading lady won’t which means my heart is constantly going out to Seo Woo. And who can forget the loyal friend and companion who always shows up at just the right time and always knows how to make every situation better? Even if he has no chance of being a love interest, he’s still lovable which means I find myself squeeing over Yoon Sung as much as I squee over the Kang cousins. (Especially when he cooks… Whew! Be still my heart!)

With so many amazing boys to swoon over, it’s no wonder Ha Won often finds her heart fluttering. She’s have to be dead not to appreciate the men in her life but therein lies the problem. When Ha Won took the job at Sky House, it was made perfectly clear that falling in love was out of the question. She could do pretty much anything else she wanted but she was not, under any circumstances, allowed to fall in love with any of the Sky House residents. Of course we all knew that rule was going to be broken and we’ve been cheering for it from the very beginning but how will breaking this rule affect Ha Won?

sooooo-cute

Our heroine has done a very good job of not falling for the many charms of Hyun Min and has even gone so far as to force him to acknowledge his still lingering feelings for Hye Ji. (Though how anyone could ever care for such an insipid, useless character is beyond me.) She’s also managed to escape the confessions of a very smitten Seo Woo. (A feat which made my heart break for our adorable idol. Ugh! Why can’t this poor boy catch a break? He deserves to be loved too!) But Ha Won has a very obvious crush on Mr. Cranky Pants (aka Ji Woon) and despite all his efforts to deny it, he has a pretty obvious crush on her as well. (Hello drunken kisses!) With so much crushing going on, you know things between these two are going to work out eventually but when they do, what’s going to happen to Ha Won?

chairman

It would be naive to believe the Chairman will let Ha Won off the hook, just because Ji Woon likes her. After all, he set the rules of Sky House for a reason and he’s not the type of man who is okay with having his orders disobeyed. And therein lies the impossibility of Ha Won’s love. It’s not impossible for her to love and be loved, but it seems pretty darn impossible for her to be allowed to pursue that love. So where does that leave our most lovable of heroines?

just-go-away-already

As much as I want to believe that Ji Woon’s love will be enough to keep her safe, we all know that’s not going to be the case. At least not right away. First of all, we have the annoying Hye Ji constantly getting in the way. Even if Ji Woon doesn’t actually love Hye Ji, he feels a very strong sense of responsibility for her. He has an innate need to take care of and protect women in his life and since Hye Ji has been put in a rather desperate situation, he feels the need to step in and help. What he doesn’t realize is just how much this offering to help is hurting Ha Won. Once he does realize this, he’s sure to put an end to all misunderstanding but doing that will bring on the second problem… The notice of his affection by the Chairman. Once the Chairman finds out Ji Woon and Ha Won have fallen in love, things are going to get messy and I’m not sure my heart is ready for that.

stinking-little

Of course there is always a chance that, as the story progresses, something may happen which will change the Chairman’s mind. After all, Dramaland is full of plot twists and impossible possibilities, which means anything’s possible. Personally, I’m hoping something like this happens, solely for the sake of Ji Woon and Ha Won. They’ve both been through so much, they deserve to love and be loved and that’s all I want for them. I want them to find their happily ever.

not-cool

But enough of my rambling. I want to know what you think of Ha Won and her impossible love. Loves? (‘Cause you know she loves all of these boys, just in different ways.) Do you think I’m a bit crazy, being this worried about the Chairman’s “no love” rule? Would he really sacrifice the happiness of one of his grandsons just for the sake of upholding a stupid rule? On a completely different note, do you think Hye Ji will really come between Ji Woon and Ha Won? Do you think Hyun Min and Hye Ji will ever find a resolution to their own impossible love? What about Seo Woo? I know confession to Ha Won is impossible but does that mean it’s impossible for him to ever find love? Personally, I’m hoping he and Ha Won’s BFF will get together but that might be asking for a bit too much. But what about you? What are your thoughts on all of this? You know I always love hearing from you so be sure to let me know what you’re thinking by leaving me a comment below!
