ZOMBIE’S T-DRAMA REVIEW: Fall In Love With Me Episode 10

star gazing

Last week’s disappointments lead perfectly into this week’s frustrations as Tian Xing makes some really stupid decisions and Le Si remains just as clueless as ever. Rather than pound my head against the desk, I think I’ll dig into this week’s episode and try to make some sense of things. Are you with me?

hopeless girl

It would appear that Le Si’s melodramatic faint in the rain was nothing more than the product of much stress and sorrow over Xiao Lu’s disappearance, which totally makes sense seeing as how everyone suddenly passes out in a downpour when they’re stressed! (Sarcasm anyone?) As annoyed as I am with Le Si’s constant waffling between, “Oh I’m okay, I can handle this” and passing out from stress, it pales in comparison to my annoyance with Tian Xing for giving in and bringing Xiao Lu back. Dang it, man! You were doing so well! Why give in now!?!

use xiao lu

I understand that Tian Xing is struggling himself, trying to deal with the brutal fact that Le Si wants nothing to do with him if he’s not Xiao Lu but still… Did he really have to stoop so low as to bring Xiao Lu back? Sure, Le Si was hurting at the time but it’s nothing a little time and distance couldn’t heal. Had Tian Xing been strong enough to endure Le Si’s initial depression, he probably would have found that, given time, she would warm up to him as himself. Though now that I think about it, that would only happen if Tian Xing were smart enough to back off for a while and let Le Si have time to heal and, truth be told, we all know that’s something Tian Xing would never do. *sigh* I’m so disappointed in Tian Xing right now. There were so many ways he could have handled this whole situation but instead of making things better, he’s continually making them worse.

leaving taiwan

Now that Xiao Lu is back, Tian Xing is going to try to make Tian Xing disappear. As if that were even possible! Tian Xing couldn’t even make Xiao Lu disappear for more than a few days so how the heck does he think he’s going to keep the famous, important and influential side of himself away? It’s absolutely impossible! Tian Xing is much  more important, in the grand scheme of things, than Xiao Lu and there’s no way he’s going to be able to stay hidden for long. We can’t even get through one episode without Tian Xing making a desperate appearance to save the day, how on Earth is he going to disappear for good? Come on Tian Xing! Use your head! This stupid, desperate plan of yours isn’t going to work!

caugh on tape

To make matters worse, Tian Xing has decided that he needs to announce to Lance that he’s leaving Taiwan. Way to go genius! Now Lance is even more suspicious of Tian Xing and his ulterior motives and he’s set a spy on Tian Xing/Xiao Lu to figure out what’s really going on. Honestly, I’m happy Lance has enough brains to put two and two together because no one else in this stinking dramas has got a clue! (More on that in a minute…) I’m really hoping Tian Xing/Xiao Lu gets caught by Lance’s spy and Tian Xing is forced to confess everything next week because I really don’t want this double identity thing dragged out any longer. It’s already so painful to watch, I’d much prefer everything was out in the open so we could clear the air and move on but I’m probably asking for too much at this point.

train accident

Let’s go back, for a second, and talk about how absolutely clueless Le Si is, shall we? I swear, if this girl doesn’t start catching on to the fact that Xiao Lu and Tian Xing are the same person soon, I’m gonna have to write her off as the most brainless lead in the history of the world. Okay, so she may not be quite that bad but she’s still pretty stinking close! Xiao Lu has returned but he’s also dropped some pretty big hints that he and Tian Xing are one and the same. If Le Si had half a brain she could easily put a lot of these “coincidental” similarities together, starting with the fact that Xiao Lu’s parents died in a train accident and Tian Xing has an inexplicable fear of crossing railroad tracks. Hmmm… If Le Si stopped to think just a bit harder, she’d realize that Xiao Lu and Tian Xing also have a mentor who has been taking care of him (them?) since the passing of his parents… And that’s just for starters! There have been so many clues dropped on Le Si, as to Xiao Lu/Tian Xing’s true identity, if she took any time at all to think about them, she would have figured out this dual identity thing a long time ago but she hasn’t, which means when the time comes and the truth is revealed, she’s going to be all shocked and hurt and hate Xiao Lu for lying and then we’ll have even more drama on our hands… As if we didn’t have enough of that already!

i love her

Honestly, the only time I wasn’t pounding my head against the table this week was when Tian Xing finally set down with Huan Huan and told her the honest truth about his feelings for Le Si. Tian Xing has been stringing Huan Huan on for far too long and I was happy he finally had the guts to tell her that she didn’t stand a chance. What was even more surprising was the fact that he did it with as much caring and concern as any normal person would, which means Tian Xing isn’t always a total jerk! Amazing, isn’t it? If only he could have treated Le Si with as much genuine sincerity, perhaps he would have come across better and he wouldn’t have had to resort to bringing Xiao Lu back. Just saying…

evil pen clicker

So what did you think of this week’s developments? Were you surprised Xiao Lu made his return or were you expecting he’d return? What do you think of Lance? He seems to have some sort of plans for this agreement with OZ, are they for the better or is he trying to destroy OZ in an attempt to get Tian Xing back to his “old self?” What about Le Si? Am I the only one completely frustrated with her at the moment? Shouldn’t she have figured this whole dual identity thing by now or am I just saying that because I can see things from the all-knowing viewer’s perspective? As always, I’d love to know what you’re thinking so be sure to leave me a comment below!

  1. Sadly, I hated the reason why Tian Xing had to come back as Xiao Lu. I’m sure if he waited long enough or had some patience, perhaps, Le Si would come around. It’s only been a few days and he couldn’t stand it anymore and brought Xiao Lu back. As you said, time and distance would have made things better. Le Si is really disappointing in that her character is so bland. She gets depressed so easily that it’s hard to root for her. I’m starting to lose the initial spark feeling between the main characters. I really don’t understand what Tian Xing is planning to do once his month is up. He wants to bury his real identity? Come on, that’s not realistic. There’s no point in bringing Xiao Lu back only to tell Le Si the truth when it’s “the right timing.” If Le Si isn’t already messed up enough, she might end up with a psychological problem after all these shocking revelations. Actually, Le Si is at the point of being blinded by love that I don’t think she ever thinks about Tian Xing at all. Everything is Xiao Lu, Xiao Lu, Xiao Lu. Perhaps, one day, she’ll think of Tian Xing and his disappearance and put two and two together. I would have been suspicious when Tian Xing shows up at Oz every day to bother Le Si, but once Xiao Lu is back, Tian Xing disappears. That’s already suspicious enough. Actually, having Tian Xing stop the contract between Oz and Tian Ji is extremely suspicious. Why would Tian Xing show up out of nowhere and rip up the contract? I think this charade is over. This week, we really see Lance shine even more as the plot thickens. We see him as greedy and manipulative. I preferred to see his character as both black and white, but I think they are just making him evil for the heck of it. What’s the big deal about Tian Xing quitting anyway? Sure, they were good childhood buddies, but if Lance and Tian Xing were really good friends, they would support each other’s career, not try to sabotage it. I don’t believe Lance can’t find someone to replace Tian Xing no matter how “great” Tian Xing appears to be. (By the way, Lance is hilarious as a cheating husband in the 2012 Taiwanese drama, “Inborn Pair.” I’m not sure if he just made a cameo, but that was a funny side of him that I haven’t seen. He’s still a jerk, but a jerk with a wandering eye. I do have a slight crush on Lance. Haha.) I was also really surprised at how Tian Xing handled the Huan Huan situation. Maybe he really does have split personalities and a medical condition. How can he be this nice all of a sudden when he’s been brutally ignoring Huan Huan last episode? Still, Huan Huan needs to be strong and not turn into another Le Si. I can’t stand all the women in this drama moping around after guys. Oh, what do you think of Ting Wei and Miao Miao’s kiss? Is there some kind of love line there or is it used only to spur Leo’s jealousy (if there is any…Leo is so boring in this drama). Leo is like the quiet killer you don’t know about. Anyway, I find it odd that Ting Wei and Miao Miao has a love connection though I’m not completely sad for her because Leo is not going to step in any time soon to interfere.

    1. I don’t think Leo’s going to do anything but mope around for the entire series, pining for a girl he has no intention of actually pursuing. Miao Miao would do much better forgetting about Leo and going with the uptight Ting Wei… At least they’ve got some sort of love-hate spark going on between them, which is more than any other couple has in this drama!

I’m with you, I can’t feel that initial spark between Le Si and Tian Xing any more. I can’t even feel a spark between Le Si and Xiao Lu! It’s like all of the life in both relationships has been sucked dry and nothing but a lot of mopey, melodramatic “blah” is left, which means I’m pretty much bored with both couples. At this point, I’d be okay with Le Si learning the truth about Xiao Lu, getting mad and dumping him, Tian Xing leaving the country for real and the both of them moving on with their lives. The bland Le Si and hook up with the boring Leo, Miao Miao and Ting Wei can get together, Tian Xing can come back in a year or so and get together with Huan Huan and Lance can scheme and connive his way into jail… I know that’s not even remotely close to where this story is going to go but I think I’d like it a lot better than having to watch a pouting Le Si throw more melodramatic fits when she finally learns the truth.

What I can’t understand is why Tian Xing didn’t confess his true identity a long time ago. He’s had so many opportunities to “spill the beans” and yet he continually finds reasons to not fess up. It’s so annoying! We could have been spared so much melodrama but because Tian Xing is being an absolute idiot, we’re forced to suffer through so. much. nonsense! Ugh! I suppose this is the downfall of every T-drama I’ve ever watched, there always comes a point when you just want to slap both of the main characters and tell them to stop all this crazy and just go back to being themselves. There was so much fantastic chemistry when everyone was “normal” but now that they’re all love-sick and helpless, well, I’m just bored. Here’s hoping something exciting happens soon!

      1. Leo was so upbeat in “Love Family” so I say this is such a transformation for his character. I was so sure that Miao Miao would eventually win Leo’s heart, but now, I’m a bit confused unless Ting Wei is just there to cause’ jealousy and to be a spy. I’m not sure how they can be together though when Ting Wei can’t handle the Miao Miao’s dog.
I know..it’s sad to lose some interest in the leads, but the story line is fizzling. Even when Xiao Lu and Le Si kissed, I didn’t feel much. *shrugs* Even half-naked scenes of Xiao Lu weren’t winning me over.
OMG, your version of the future is so hilarious! TIan Xing leaving the country (typical thing for a lead character to do), Le Si and Leo could make a nice, boring couple, actually, but seeing how needy Le Si is for Xiao Lu, that might not work out. Tian Xing and Huan Huan? I see Huan Huan dumping Tian Xing as well! Haha! Poor Lance in jail? That really made me laugh. I guess that’s another reason Huan Huan would dump Tian Xing since she’d probably think it’s all Tian Xing’s fault. The downfall of Tian Ji Advertising and the rise of Oz, I guess.

        1. I think we’re on to something here! Maybe we should take over writing the rest of this drama! LOL! Leo was in Love Around as well but he was another mopey second who could never really let himself fall for the plucky side character that loved him. It’s kind of sad that he can’t get his act together and go out and get himself a girl. I think he’d be much less sullen if he had a woman in his life to add a bit of fun. He seems to be too much into work and pining for Le Si to be able to enjoy anything else in life. Poor guy!

Yeah, I’m pretty bummed there isn’t much sizzle left in the OTP. From sizzle to fizzle… That’s pretty much the underlying theme of this drama. *sobs* And I had such high hopes! Well, I suppose there’s still hope things can get better by the end but at this point, I’m not holding my breath. When kiss scenes and half-naked Aaron scenes don’t get a reaction out of me… What hope does the rest of this drama have? Not much, I’m afraid!

Still, I’m not ready to write this whole thing off just yet. There’s still the chance things will improve and who knows, maybe the writers will see our alternative version and decide it’s worth a shot! LOL!

          1. I know ~ Aren’t we almost halfway through the series? I wonder what other story line could happen. Sizzle to fizzle. Haha. Good one. I like that! Too bad there aren’t any second leads that I can focus on. Yes, in “Love Family,” Leo’s character was also being chased by a plucky girl as well~! I guess he’s typecasted and therefore it’s his drama fate. I guess I can’t wait to see how Le Si dumps Xiao Lu. I want to see her get angry, any emotion other than confused or upset.

          2. Yes please! I’m pretty sure if Le Si gets so depressed she faints again, I’m going to start throwing things! Why much all drama women become so frail and helpless? Even the tougher female leads usually end up so downtrodden by the end that they’re nothing more than hollow, fragile shells of them old selves and I hate that! Oh what I wouldn’t give for a female lead who decided not to take crap from anyone and did her own thing! Wouldn’t that be a switch!?!

According to the all-knowing DramaFever (haha) there are 30 episodes to this drama which means we’re only a third of the way through! Augh! How are we going to survive another 20 episodes of this nonsense!?! Something had better start happening soon or we may not survive this one! LOL!

          3. I totally agree – being allergic is no joke to me and I would not make fun of a person over something that he or she has no control over. Miao Miao is very evil over a grudge. I know, I could take a break from this drama, but I am watching other dramas simultaneously when I have the time. It really depends on how ridiculous the plot line will get. If it gets any worse than this, maybe I’ll come back to it later. I was actively watching “Level 7 Civil Servant” until after they go through the academy part and then the plot just died after that so that one is forever on hold at this point. I was watching “Lie To Me,” but I have no idea why I stopped watching mid-way. I’m going to catch up on that again. I think I have one episode to go before I finally finish “Playful Kiss” (what a painful drama to watch…it is definitely just as ridiculous or more ridiculous than a Taiwanese drama.) I must have started that drama more than a year ago. If I don’t like a drama, I don’t usually give up, but I will watch at super turtle speed.

          4. OMG ~ 30 episodes? I think we can start closing this story line! haha… What else can possibly happen? Oh, maybe marriage…eh…hm…

  2. *hm* It sounds like you two are in serious need of a break from this drama. ^^; Why not just watch something else for a few weeks and then come back to check in on things. If you like it, you’ll have several episodes to watch – if you’ve completely forgotten about it, that’s just as well. So. Win-win. No? 🙂
<- I've had this problem with several dramas. Sometimes it helped to store episodes and then fast forward throught stuff I didn't like (Did this for Lie to Me). Sometimes I stopped watching and then rewatched years later – and actually liked it! Just had that experience with Personal Taste. 🙂 With Just You I stopped watching in the middle and then only watched the ending. Worked for me. And then of course there are other dramas that I just stopped and whose existence I continue to ignore (Korean BOF, Level-7 Civil Servant, and the Bu Bu Jing Xin sequel that did not happen). Still wondering whether I should give Love Around another chance (or maybe only watch the kiss scenes or something 😉 )…

And *erm* I totally hate how they treat dog hair allergy like that's something totally non-serious and that guy is just being fussy. I know people you suffer from different allergies (cats, pollen, etc.) and well, they SUFFER. Not funny, drama. o_ô Starting to hate Miao Miao for that. :/

And. That bracelet with the key chain. Do want. *_*

    1. The bracelet is pretty sweet, isn’t it? Much better than Tian Xing’s weird and ugly necklace he kept trying to force on Le Si! I guess Xiao Lu just has better taste than his snobby counterpart. Haha!

I’m pretty annoyed by the dog allergy thing too. Being one who suffers from cat allergies, I know how awful it is to be around an animal that makes you sick. It’s not that you hate the animal or anything, it’s just that the presence of said animal really makes you miserable. I face this problem every time I go to visit certain friends of mine but since I love them too much, I just suck it up and take some allergy medicine before I go. Pretty sure that would help in this case too but then what would people have to whine about?

I’ve had several dramas I could never bring myself to finish, for one reason or another, but this isn’t going to be one of them. I knew, going into this review, that it would probably be painful to watch at times but I decided I’d go for it anyway. After writing a review of Love Around for DramaFever, I was pretty confident that I could do this one on my own. We’ve just hit the annoying stage of the drama but it will pass. Things are already looking up for next week. I don’t usually like to put too much faith in the previews for next week, just because we don’t know where those clips are coming from and what context they’re actually in but if Lance really did catch Tian Xing/Xiao Lu in the middle of a transformation then things are going to start to get interesting! I think it’s about time the troublemaker steps in to shake things up a bit and despite all my griping in these comments, I really am looking forward to seeing what happens next. Sometimes you just have to vent your frustrations before you can move on. LOL! 😉

      1. Actually the necklace is the key to open the bracelet.
At this moment I love so much this show that even TaoZi’s wet blanket can’t annoy me and her Oppa didn’t mean it when she was dumped was literary one heck of a pamphlet .
I like LTX being bad and Lance competing with him at it. LTX is one of my fav chars in years. I like them anti-heroes. Sad Eyes in Duelist (2005 movie), Bidam and Mishil in Queen Seon Deok 2009, Narumi Hikaru (Nakayama Yuma) in Piece 2012 and now LTX. I think you can see a pattern. Bad guys but pretty boys. Yes Asian drama land doesn’t lack pretty but rarely you can see a complex character doing anything for his own survival and not being one dimensional. With a chance to get the girl.
I think Gaksital was another anti-hero that so many people loved.
        So show Entertain me!

        1. How did I miss that the necklace and the bracelets go together? *facepalm* Thanks for enlightening me!

I like Tian Xing being more of a bad guy too but I’m always kind of a sucker for the bad boys. I think if he kept his bad boy edge and stopped trying to pursue Le Si so relentlessly, things would go better for him. I’m still convinced Le Si would eventually come to realize the the mellow Xiao Lu was just too bland for her but that’s just my opinion. Maybe she really does prefer a more boring and uneventful life?

I’m with you when you say, “Show Entertain me!” I’m more than ready to be entertained! 🙂
