ZOMBIE’S T-DRAMA REVIEW: Someone Like You Episode 11

in his arms

Oh my goodness! I don’t know how any of you fared while watching this week’s episode but I suffered from a wildly excessive amount of feels and good grief, I’m just not sure what to make of them all!

brother and sister

This week’s episode started out happy enough, with Zhan Cheng and his family celebrating the return of his eyesight and I was oh so happy for them all. After suffering so much worry on Zhan Cheng’s behalf, it’s nice that his family’s biggest dream has finally come true. To have Zhan Cheng back and better than ever has to be such a weight off all their shoulders and it just makes my heart happy to know that this family has such happy days ahead of them.

goodbye

Unfortunately, this moment of happiness was laced with sadness as Yu Xi’s imminent departure became apparent and it broke my heart to watch them all accept the inevitable. I don’t know why it made me so sad to watch Zhan Cheng’s family say their goodbyes to Yu Xi but it did. I mean it’s not like Yu Xi is actually going anywhere. Sure, she may be leaving Zhan Cheng’s house but that doesn’t mean she’s leaving his life for good. As much as I know this to be true, it still made me ridiculously sad to watch Yu Xi and Zhan Cheng say their last farewell. Silly me! I know there’s no way this is going to be the end for Zhan Cheng and Yu Xi, they’re the OTP for crying out loud! Even so, watching Yu Xi pack up her bags and go back home made me want to cry and Zhan Cheng pushing that call button very nearly did me in! Well, that and watching him mope around his house, calling for a Yu Xi who was no longer there… Ugh! Is there anything more sad than a man pining for his lady?

At least we’ve finally reached the place where Zhan Cheng is willing to admit Yu Xi is the one for him. He may not have admitted it verbally, at least not yet, but he hesitated to answer William’s question and we all know what that means. Those five seconds of hesitation are all the answer we need at the moment, so I’m satisfied. Okay, so I’m a little more than satisfied. Just watching Zhan Cheng and Yu Xi together this week was enough to make my heart skip a couple of beats. The way these two light up when they’re around each other is enough to make me feel all the warm-fuzzies but there’s more to their relationship than just the stuff that makes you feel good. These two have always been able to help each other out on a much deeper level, pushing each other to be better, to try harder, to never give up and I love that about them. They’re more than just friends, they’re soul-mates. These two aren’t afraid to speak up, tell it like it is and even when they disagree, they find a way to get over it or through it and see the merit in what the other has to say. From the very beginning Yu Xi has been the one pushing Zhan Cheng to try harder, to not give up, and I love that now it’s his turn, forcing Yu Xi to accept the fact that she’s not responsible for the actions of others. It’s a difficult lesson for Yu Xi to learn but it’s also necessary and I love Zhan Cheng for being the one to teach her this because he’s doing it in the most loving way possible. (Pardon me while I swoon.)

shoulda punched him

While I may be swooning over Zhan Cheng, I’m most definitely not swooning over Bo Yan. On the contrary, I’m still wishing I could throw bricks at his head but only because the’s the slimiest slime-ball to ever walk the face of the earth. I knew he stepped out in front of that car on purpose! I knew those proposal documents were fake! I knew he was just using Yu Xi to make Big City fail! (Man, sometimes being right isn’t all it’s cracked up to be…) Bo Yan is such a nasty piece of work, I really wish that car had hit him harder but it didn’t and he’s apparently made a full recovery. (Dang it!) That smug smile on his face at the D12 bidding was so incredibly annoying I just… Grrrr! I’m happy he got an unpleasant shock when he realized Zhan Cheng’s eyesight was back, he deserved it. Actually, that whole scene made me happy, not because William was on the verge of socking Bo Yan in the nose (though that was pretty great) but because Zhan Cheng was so confident that this wasn’t the end of things. *sigh* He’s just so cool! (Oh… Sorry! I got sidetracked by Zhan Cheng’s awesomeness for a moment. Moving on…) I’m happy Yu Xi finally had enough of Bo Yan’s crap and has decided to dump his sorry behind. I was cheering her on as she told that scum-bag this was the end and I was even happier when she told him she never wanted to see him again. Hooray for Yu Xi and her sudden surge of gumption! I guess that little Zhan Cheng pep talk did her some good.

he's so cool

While I’m pretty sure Yu Xi could have handled Bo Yan and his stupidity, when he came to visit her at her home, I wasn’t at all opposed to Zhan Cheng stepping in on Yu Xi’s behalf. It’s nice to know there are chivalrous men in this world and even better than Zhan Cheng is one of them. I know Yu Xi isn’t quite ready to admit her own feelings for Zhan Cheng but at least she knows she’s got a very noble man on her side, even if she can only see him as a friend/ex-boss at the moment. I do believe Yu Xi’s thoughts of Zhan Cheng are going to start taking on a more romantic tone in the weeks to come, especially now that Bo Yan is out of the picture. Now that Yu Xi is single, she’s free to think of her former boss in any way that she chooses and I think this incident with Bo Yan will be the spark that turns to flame. Honestly, I don’t think it’s going to take much for Yu Xi to see that she’s been falling for her boss for a very log time. In fact, I’m pretty sure one flashback montage will be enough to convince her Zhan Cheng has been the one for her for a very long time…

he gets a car

So tell me, what did you think of this week’s episode? Did you feel as many different emotions as I did this week or am I letting my own exhaustion get the better of me? Is anyone else having a hard time figuring out Bo Yan? I know he’s a scum-ball but he has moments when he almost seems to care and that confuses the crap out of me. I’m going to continue to doubt everything he does, because he’s proven himself a chronic liar, but there are times when I almost think he’s being sincere and I don’t like it! What are your thoughts on Vanessa? She gave Bo Yan a car and said it was a company gift but did anyone else feel like this was really just her trying to buy his affection? How long do you think it will take for Yu Xi to realize she’s fallen for Zhan Cheng? Do you think Zhan Cheng will find a way to win this D12 business? You know I always love hearing from you so be sure to let me know what you’re thinking by leaving me a comment below!

  1. For this episode, my mind was filled with…..Finally!!!!!! Yu Xi kicked that Bo Yan to the curb. So from here on, whatever bad things he has up his sleeves, I can just freely hate him without fearing transference. And Bo Yan’s deal, I’m as confused as you. I could chalked his reaction during the break up scene as being caught off guard, so naturally he’d go back to his facade for the past few months-I need to prolong this relationship with Yu Xi, hence the begging. But then for him to go back again after knowing that ZC is no longer blind, hence Yu Xi is probably not as useful work-wise, is kinda confusing.

Moving on, I’m so happy that Zhan Cheng has finally semi-admitted that his feelings for Yu Xi is not as platonic as he’s been saying. And it seems by next episode, we’re gonna have the ball in Yu Xi’s hand.

    1. I’m really not sure how Yu Xi is going to handle finding out Zhan Cheng’s feelings may be more than she’s ever thought they might be. I don’t think she’s quite ready to accept the feelings of one man when she’s just sent the other away. (Though with that other being a slime-ball like Bo Yan, I’d be okay with her being completely over him in less than two seconds.) It’s definitely going to be different for her, being around a man who is willing to give just as much to their relationship as she is. With Bo Yan, Yu Xi has been the only one giving and I think it’s high time she was with someone who could give just as much, if not more, than she gives of herself. I know that with Zhan Cheng, that’s exactly what she’s going to get, seeing as how he’s already proved himself to be completely selfless when it comes to those he loves. I’m actually very much looking forward to watching the romance blossom between these two because I have a feeling it’s going to be a wonderful thing. Eeep! I’m so excited for the next episode!

  2. Ahhhh what a happy place this week’s episode leaves me…. 🙂

ZC pressing the call button again and again was all the admission I need for him, poor bubba! Hehe such a sweet and wordless way to say so much! And I was grinning from ear to ear when they were eating together as he got to see what his carer has been doing around him while he couldn’t see, teehee too sweet.

Oh question, that 5 second of hesitation thing that William said he learnt from YuXi, when was that??

There may be way more woman than we like eyeing ZC but can I say I approve of this adorable bromance he has going with William??? Just spoil me with Yuxi/ZC plus ZC/William lovey dovey and I will be be content in my lil corner here! Lol

Gotta admit this show does good trailers, they always leave me so impatient for next wk ^_^

    1. Those all-important five seconds happened when William and ZC were talking at ZC’s home after he and YX had lunch. William asked ZC ve if he like YX and ZC failed to answer right away. It was that pause, those five seconds of hesitation, that has William convinced ZC cares for YX more than he’s willing to admit.

      1. Yes I thought that part was too cute of William!! What I meant was in the English subs William told ZC to stop, then said something abt it “this is what YuXi taught me”, then count to 5. So when did she teach him that or did the translations play with me? Hehe

        1. Ah, I see what you’re asking now. As far as I know, there was never a scene where YX and William talked about this five second thing so it must have happened sometime they were together but it wasn’t shown on-camera. I’m sure those two have spent quite a bit of time together so it makes sense to assume they’ve had conversations we know nothing about. I’m assuming this is one of those times. If I’m wrong then I’m gonna feel really dumb for missing that one! haha
