ZOMBIE’S T-DRAMA REVIEW: Someone Like You Episode 12

horseback riding

Oh my goodness! After so many episodes of slow build-up, we’re finally starting to reap some of the rewards and I have to say, I’m loving it! There’s something about an episode chock full of cute that makes me happier than a pig in a blanket. Wait! What???

stare down

Anyhoo… Picking up where we left off last week, Zhan Cheng stepped in to be the hero, rescuing Yu Xi from Bo Yan’s annoying pleas to take him back, and I have to say, Zhan Cheng had me swooning like crazy at that moment. He was just so cool! And then he handed Yu Xi those lollipops and walked away with that little bounce in his step… *sigh* That would have been enough to keep me happy for days but then he had to go and stare down Bo Yan after promising to bring that sucker to utter ruin and I’m just… *swoon* The best part about this week’s episode is that all of this happened in the first few minutes of the show and Zhan Cheng’s swoon factor (is that even a thing???) only increased as this episode continued. Not only did Zhan Cheng save Yu Xi from the likes of Bo Yan but he also found a way to keep her close to him AND he confessed his feelings for her. Granted he didn’t confess those feelings to Yu Xi herself but his reasoning on that score is both noble and understandable. Like he said, Yu Xi has been going through a lot lately and it would seem un-chivalrous of him to step in and confess his feelings mere moments after he finds out she’s broken up with Bo Yan.

slime ball

Speaking of… It makes me really, ridiculously happy to know that Yu Xi’s decision to leave Bo Yan is one she plans on sticking with. There’s no hesitation and no regret which tells me she’s so very over this guy, we have no need to fear she may one day go back. This makes me very happy because, as we all know, Bo Yan is nothing but the slimiest creep to ever walk the face of this planet and he’s proven time and time again that he doesn’t deserve Yu Xi and the happiness she brings. I don’t really see how Bo Yan can blame Zhan Cheng for stealing Yu Xi when it’s Bo Yan’s only stupid actions that caused her to walk away in the first place but this is Bo Yan we’re talking about here. His reasoning has never made sense to me so it doesn’t surprise me that I can’t understand him now. He’s acting like Zhan Cheng has caused him some great harm but he’s always acted like that. It seems to me he’s just adding Yu Xi to the list of grievances he has against Zhan Cheng which I find to be completely lame. (Then again, I find everything about Bo Yan to be lame so…) It’s no secret Bo Yan is trying to use this deal with Crystal to get back at Zhan Cheng, and it looks as if this deal could actually do some harm, but I have a feeling things aren’t going to go as well as Bo Yan plans. Zhan Cheng isn’t stupid. I’m sure he’s keeping tabs on any and all business that may affect him and his company but Bo Yan’s sneakiness does seem to be working in his favor at the moment. If this deal goes through, Bo Yan will finally have a position of respectability and the power to do what he wants but I don’t think things are going to work out in Bo Yan’s favor. Even if he does gain this new position, I think Zhan Cheng will make good on his word and eventually bring Bo Yan to ruin. (Hey, one can hope, right?)

youre pregnant

Even if Bo Yan isn’t brought to complete ruin, I have a feeling his new tie to Vanessa is going to end up working against him. Call me crazy but I’m pretty sure Vanessa’s mom isn’t going to be very happy with her new CEO (if he get to that position) when she finds out he’s the one who knocked up her daughter. Oh Vanessa! See what happens when you let your frazzled emotions get the better of you? I knew that getting mixed up with Bo Yan was going to be bad for Vanessa but I had no idea it would be this bad. I can’t help but feel sorry for Vanessa, now that she’s tied to the world’s worst man. I’m sure she’s going to try to keep this little bit of information a secret for as long as possible but you know, you can’t hide a pregnancy forever. Eventually the truth is going to come out and I have to wonder, is Vanessa going to confront Bo Yan about this or is she going to try to handle this on her own? She’s certainly strong enough to take this on by herself but will she want to? She’s made a few too many googly eyes at Bo Yan for my taste, which makes me think she may want to use this baby as a means to keep him with her but at the same time, the way he’s handling this Crystal business doesn’t seem to be setting too well with her. Perhaps Vanessa is starting to see Bo Yan for the creep that he is??? In a drama anything is possible so I guess we’re just going to have to wait and see on this one.

best friends

In the meantime, we’ve got so much cute to squee over, Vanessa and her dilemmas will have to take a backseat. I mean oh my goodness! This week was nothing but cute, cute and more cute and I loved every minute of it! Xiao Lin and William are some of the best sidekicks ever written and I love, love, LOVE that they are not only here to support their friends, they’re also falling for each other. I mean how great is this!?! Two adorable seconds, falling in love while their best friend leads fall in love as well??? This is what drama dreams are made of! Seriously, Xiao Lin is the most wonderful best friend and I love to watch her and Yu Xi together because they have such a real relationship. They laugh and tease and squee and cry and talk and listen and comfort and do all the things a pair of best friends would do in real life and I absolutely love that! There’s nothing these two don’t talk about and I love that they’ve got each other’s backs. The same goes for William and Zhan Cheng. Those two are seriously cute and I love watching them together just as much as I love watching Yu Xi and Xiao Lin. The friendships between these two pairs is just wonderful and watching them makes me feel all sorts of warm-fuzzies. *sigh*

overhears a confession

As wonderful as it is to watch these two sets of friends interact, it’s even more fun to watch the romantic relationships developing between. Xiao Lin and William are adorable together. The way William’s face lit up when Xiao Lin asked him out was just so cute! And Xiao Lin, with all of her fretting and worrying and squeeing over William is just so adorable, I almost wish she were my best friend so I could watch her spazz on a regular basis. Watching her and William together (especially on that horse) made me all kinds of happy because these two seem to be made for each other. They’re just so much fun to watch together, with all of their shy smiles and contented sighs, the make my heart happy but they’re not the only ones to do so! Yu Xi and Zhan Cheng are by far the most wonderful pair to watch together. They have such natural chemistry between them, it’s like Yu Xi said, she doesn’t have to put on a show or try to be something she’s not, she simply has to be herself when she’s around Zhan Cheng and that is absolutely wonderful because it’s her natural self that Zhan Cheng has fallen for. I just hope Yu Xi can come to realize that fact. I know she’s worried that Zhan Cheng has fallen for her because she looks so much like Luo Han but if Yu Xi would only take a moment to look back over all the time she’s spent with Zhan Cheng, I’m sure she’d find that he’s been showing signs of his affection long before he could see her face. Even Fei Fei confirmed this when she told Yu Xi that Zhan Cheng yelled at her after she fired Yu Xi. That too happened long before Zhan Cheng’s eyesight was restored which should tip Yu Xi off to the fact Zhan Cheng’s feelings are sincere. Of course, like William said, Yu Xi can be a bit slow sometimes so maybe someone can spell this out for her… Okay, so Zhan Cheng needs to be the one to spell this out for her but he’s holding back until he feels the time is right. Hmmm… I suppose I should be applauding his chivalry but really, I’m just sitting here very impatiently as I wait for him to confess. Oh joy.
