ZOMBIE’S T-DRAMA REVIEW: Someone Like You Episode 13

our future

Oh my goodness! The cuteness in this week’s episode has me clutching my heart as I squee uncontrollably. I just can’t help myself! The way Zhan Cheng looks at Yu Xi… AUGH! Can this man be any more perfect??? I suppose before I completely fall apart over Zhan Cheng, I should try to talk about everything else that happened this week first so let’s get to it!

defeated

Picking up where we left off last week, it looked like Bo Yan was on the verge of ruining Zhan Cheng but it turns out I spent all that time worrying for nothing. It seems all of Bo Yan’s plans were for naught as Zhan Cheng was perfectly aware of everything Bo Yan was trying to do and he turned it around to make a huge profit for Big City. As great as things looks for Zhan Cheng at the moment, they’re not looking so hot for Bo Yan and all I can say is HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! (Yeah, I know, that’s very childish of me but oh well!) I’ve been cheering for Bo Yan’s demise for a very long time and I’m not gonna lie, it’s very satisfying to see his entire world fall apart around him. He’s been a greedy, selfish, scheming, conniving, slimy worm from the very beginning and I’m so, so, so, so, so, so, so happy to see him get what he deserves! (Okay, fine, I’m twelve today. Maybe someday I’ll grow up but right now I’m having too much fun crowing over Bo Yan’s downfall.) Zhan Cheng promised Bo Yan he would make that slime-ball lose everything and as we all know, Zhan Cheng is a man of his word. With the failure of this business deal, Bo Yan has been kicked to the curb and he has no one to blame but himself. Of course that’s not going to stop him from blaming Zhan Cheng but that’s not really anything new. I’m just wondering what’s going to happen now that Bo Yan has lost his job. He’s obviously still going to try to exact his revenge but how? He’s lost his position of power and I don’t think any other companies are going to want to hire someone who fails so spectacularly so how is Bo Yan going to get back at Zhan Cheng? I can see him trying to use Yu Xi but she’s so head-over-heels over Zhan Cheng, I don’t think she’s going to have much to do with Bo Yan from now on so again I have to ask, what’s his master plan?

these two

I suppose it’s always possible Bo Yan might forget about exacting revenge as he attempts to deal with the rather shocking news that Vanessa is carrying his baby. I have to say, I really wanted to smack Bo Yan upside the head as he tried to convince Vanessa to give up her child. His argument was sound for a moment but once again he put himself and his own wishes above the feelings and wishes of others and ended up botching everything. Trying to convince Vanessa that he knows what’s best, after she’s been through so much already on her own, was just stupid and I applaud Vanessa for getting up and walking away. Whatever she decides to do with this baby is none of Bo Yan’s business and if he really wants to help, he’ll man up, accept responsibility and help Vanessa in whatever way she sees fit. I’m honestly hoping Vanessa decides to have nothing to do with Bo Yan and keeps him as far away from her baby as possible but I doubt that will happen. Of course if he keeps insisting she abort her baby, it might. I think Vanessa would do much better on her own than with the likes of Bo Yan around but we’ll see what she ultimately decides.

a girl and a priest

While Vanessa and Bo Yan’s relationship is still very much in the air, they’re not the only couple in this drama trying to get their feelings worked out. Fei Fei and Yu An are such a confused and adorable pair, I love watching them together even when they force me to facepalm every two seconds. For one thing, Fei Fei is dangerously close to falling in love with a priest and I just can’t get behind that. Why must she insist on falling for completely unavailable men? She’s only hurting herself, and us, as we’re forced to watch her set herself up for failure over and over again. However Fei Fei isn’t the only one in this adorable duo making me smack my head. Yu An is so completely clueless when it comes to Fei Fei and her feelings I have to question his mental capacity. I mean this girl couldn’t make it more obvious that she likes him and yet he’s so completely clueless, he can’t understand why she conveniently can’t return the sweatshirt that looks exactly like hers. Hmmm… C’mon Yu An, get a clue! I know this boy is adorable in his cluelessness but he really needs to get it figured out so he can help Fei Fei understand that you can’t date a priest. Poor clueless Fei Fei! Even Yu Xi tried to explain this simple fact to her and she still didn’t get it! I hope she gets this figured out soon though, I’d much rather watch her fall for a man who might actually reciprocate her feelings.

Cinderella's slipper

While I may be tired of watching Fei Fei make googly eyes at Yu An, I’m not at all tired of watching Zhan Cheng make those same eyes at Yu Xi. On the contrary, I could sit and watch Zhan Cheng and Yu Xi together for the rest of forever and be perfectly content. Seriously. The way Zhan Cheng looks at Yu Xi is enough to make my heart skip a thousand beats; there’s so much love in his eyes, I can’t help but swoon. But those lovely looks are only the beginning in a long list of Zhan Cheng’s wonderfulness. Zhan Cheng is the most caring, attentive, wonderful, chivalrous, romantic, amazing man on the face of the planet and Yu Xi is without a doubt, the luckiest girl in the universe because she’s the one who holds his heart. From fixing Yu Xi’s shoes, to the pumpkin carriage, to his confession, to his talk with Mama Chen, Zhan Cheng has me convinced he’s the world’s most perfect man and I’m swooning so hard over him at the moment, I may fall out of my chair. *sigh* With so many wonderful moments, both this week and last, I’m a little worried that all of the cuteness is soon to be overshadowed by something awful that will ruin everything. When Yu Xi found that picture of William, Zhan Cheng and Luo Han my heart sank because I was afraid that would be the beginning of the end of this brief moment of happiness but I don’t think that’s really going to be the case. I think, if anything, this will inspire Yu Xi to find out the truth behind Luo Han’s identity and as hard as it may be for her to learn she had a twin sister, she’s got Zhan Cheng by her side to help her through and I think that’s going to make all the difference. (Unless she suddenly feels like being with her deceased sister’s ex is a bad thing and tries to use that as an excuse to walk away from Zhan Cheng… But we won’t think about such an awful thing right now. Ugh!) For the moment let’s just revel in all the happy, sappy cuteness that is Zhan Cheng and Yu Xi… *happy sigh*

hug 2

So tell me, what did you think of this week’s episode? Do you love watching Zhan Cheng and Yu Xi together as much as I do? Are they not the most perfect OTP ever? What do you think is going to happen to Bo Yan now that he’s jobless? Do you think he’s going to try to find a way to get his revenge? Any ideas as to what that might be? What do you think Vanessa is going to do now that Bo Yan knows about the baby? Will Fei Fei ever fall for a man who isn’t completely unavailable to her? You know I always love hearing from you so be sure to let me know what you’re thinking by leaving me a comment below!

  1. Let’s start with the “pure” happiness!!!!!! Zhan Cheng and Yu Xi are happily dating, YES!!!!!!! How cool is it, that there was really no hesitation on both parties? Yu Xi had her Luo Han doubt, but she right there and then remembered all of ZC’s actions, hence clearing the confusion.

On to the middle ground, I really hope both Fei Fei and Yu An wisen up with reality. He is a priest, who seems very happy with his vocation. So, Fei Fei back off with your ambiguous friendship. And with Yu An, the ability to read a person or situation, I hope he develops that (even just a bit!), after all it would serve him well in dispensing advice to his parishioners and leading his church.

And to the good news for a bad person……Bo Yan was FIRED, EMBARRASSED and given his own dose medicine!!!!!!!!!!!!! #happydance But his speech with Vanessa confuses me to no end, I was going from ‘Pushing the abortion to go after Yu Xi without hang-ups’ to ‘Maybe he’s saying those words so Vanessa will be forced to be with him (reverse psychology thingy)’. Whatever it is, as long as ZC and YX are together jumping over the hurdles, I’m a happy camper!

    1. Isn’t it wonderful when your beloved OTP gets together without any hesitation? It seems like such a rare thing in DramaLand and yet, here we have ZC and YX together and it’s just so lovely! *happy sigh* I could watch those two together for forever and be perfectly content. They’re just so cute!

You’re so right about Fei Fei and Yu An. She needs to get smart and accept the fact that you can’t date a priest and Yu An just needs to get a clue. I get that’s he’s totally naive and all but come on! He spends all of his time trying to help people with their problems, shouldn’t he have some basic understanding of human emotion? Just because he’s a priest doesn’t mean he can’t figure out this poor girl likes him! Right?

As for Bo Yan, he continues to prove himself to be the biggest jerk on the face of the planet. I’m convinced his entire speech to Vanessa was nothing more than an attempt to guilt her into having an abortion because it was better for him. Whether it’s because he wants to be free to pursue YX or because he simply doesn’t want to be tied down to Vanessa doesn’t really matter. What does matter is that he cares only for himself and until he starts thinking of someone other than himself, he’s going to continue to on this downward spiral. (Not that I would be upset about that at all. I’d like for him to completely disappear but that probably won’t happen.)

I wish I could say ZC and YX are going to live happily ever after now but I have this horrible feeling something is going to happen to ruin this most happy of moments. I’d love to be wrong on this but we have too many episodes left to think nothing is going to go wrong. Darn rules of Drama Land! As long as our OTP get to live happily ever after eventually, I’ll try to be satisfied. Until then, I’ll just enjoy watching them be ridiculously adorable.

  2. Oh I also have so much to squee about that I don’t know where to start!! This is definitely the most re-watched episode for me, esp. the later part of the episode. I love how the whole confession went so smoothly. Was grinning to see their happy and contented smile. I couldn’t agree more with you that ZC is the (drama) world’s most wonderful man, and I especially like his gentle reassuring answer to YX’s mom when she confronted him. Can’t wait for next episode for more dating cuteness, please! Like you said, there are still many episodes left, what will happen after this?? In K-drama, this (OTP getting together) will be the point where every possible problems start to come up to separate the OTP. I so dread this kind of moments in future episodes. I don’t think I can survive watching ZC and YX being separated! And it’s really hard to guess where the writing will be heading for. I’m hoping that once the gentle and kind-hearted YaTi finds out that ZC and YX have gotten together, she would back off and please not mention anything at all about her heart transplant. Instead, can we just interlace a show down between ZC and BY to fill the episodes, and still preserve the cuteness of our new couple? Can we please, please not go the direction of LuoHan’s heart is in YaTi’s body?
As for BY and Vanessa, it’s hard for me to believe he’s that noble to not want cause any burden for V. I think it’s more because of the challenge he posed to ZC about him not yet giving up on YX. He’ll stand no chance if YX finds out about the baby. Things would have been very different if he hadn’t been fired unceremoniously by V’s mom. I’m sure if that’s the case, he’d jump at the chance of being the baby’s legal father, and sing a whole different song about how he should be responsible for baby and V’s future.
As for Fei Fei and Yu An… I really do love watching them together actually, and I still wonder how the writer is going to handle their relationship. I don’t see Yu An ever wanting to leave his job in the church, although…he can actually become a pastor instead of a priest? I do wish they can get together.
Such a lovely picture by the way, that last one 😉
