HALLYU ZOMBIE DRAMA REVIEW: Doctor Stranger Episodes 7-8 (2/2)

what we had to go through

Tanya: Oh the twists and turns that Dr. Stranger weaves. Where do we even start this week?! Dopplegangers? Infant surgery? Mystery adoptee? Spy gun fight?

Zombie: I’m not really sure where to start! So much is going on and every time I think I’ve got a tiny bit of it figured out… WHAM! Something happens and I’m right back where I started, with no better idea of what’s actually going on that I already had! Let me just say that because of that I’M LOVING THIS DRAMA! ZOMBIE’S DRAMA REVIEW: Angel Eyes Episodes 11-12

welcome home

Why is it that whenever things in Dramaland finally start to go right, something or someone has to step in and ruin everything? It’s like the Dramaland gods can’t stand to see people happy for long so they have to throw a giant monkey wrench at the main characters’ heads, just because they can, which is exactly what happened in this week’s episodes of Angel Eyes. (Grrrr!) Continue reading “ZOMBIE’S DRAMA REVIEW: Angel Eyes Episodes 11-12”

HALLYU ZOMBIE DRAMA REVIEW: Doctor Stranger Episodes 5-6 (2/2)

jae hee

Tanya: So… I’m starting to think I was right. Jae Hee was a toy. Now imposter Jae Hee (or possibly actual Jae Hee but we just don’t know yet because it’s super easy to fake or replace medical records) is a toy. Apparently North Korea has time to play all sorts of games.

Zombie: Which means we have no idea what’s actually going on here and I’m not just talking about with Jae Hee… I’m so lost trying to figure out what’s actually going on with the South Korean Prime Minister, the ex-administrator/doctor from the hospital (Dr. Choi) and the creepy North Korean baddie (Cha Jin Soo)… It seems to me they’re all in cahoots but I can’t figure out what their dastardly master plan is. Is the Prime Minister some sort of North Korean agent, whose mission is to become president and then “take over the world,” so to speak?

FRIDAY NIGHT DRAMA: Easy Fortune Happy Life

title

Perhaps after writing two reviews for Fall in Love With Me this week, I’ve kind of got T-Dramas on the brain, or perhaps I just like to mix things up once in a while, I not really sure which is the case but whatever the reason, I’ve decided to feature the Taiwanese drama, Easy Fortune Happy Life, for this week’s “Friday Night Drama.” Continue reading “FRIDAY NIGHT DRAMA: Easy Fortune Happy Life”

ZOMBIE’S DRAMA REVIEW: Angel Eyes Episodes 9-10

star kisses

Episodes Nine and Ten mark the half-way point of Angel Eyes which means these two episodes were nothing short of an emotional roller-coaster. From moments of sorrow and heartache to moments of sheer bliss, this week’s episodes had them all which means we’ve got a lot to discuss so let’s get to it!

HALLYU ZOMBIE DRAMA REVIEW: Doctor Stranger Episodes 3-4 (2/2)

doc rock 1 doc rock 2

Tanya: I really want to start off talking about Dr. Oh. I’m happy this show has more than one strong female lead and I’m particularly fond of how Dr. Oh’s brother’s constant attempts to irk her always fail miserably.

Zombie: I really want to know what the back-story is between these two. I know that we were given a glimpse into Dr. Oh’s past this week and we now know what her relationship is with her father and how she came to live in his house but we know nothing else. It’s obvious that her step-brother is not fond of her, at all, but has he always been that way? Was there a time that they actually got along but as time has passed, they’ve had a falling out? At this point I’m most inclined to believe that he’s always been a spoiled brat and he’s never liked the fact that Dr. Oh ruined his happy home life and invaded his territory but I can’t say that with any sort of certainty.

Hallyu Zombie Drama Review: Doctor Stranger Episodes 3-4 (1/2)

The intrigue and humor of this drama leave me pleasantly surprised this week. While it is definitely a melodrama, there just happens to be enough medical theme and humor laced in to make it almost lighthearted. Lee Jong Suk continues to prove why he is near the top of my “amazing actors” list. He seamlessly moves between the different emotions in the show without any of the situations feeling off or out of place.
