HALLYU ZOMBIE DRAMA REVIEW: Doctor Stranger Episodes 13-14 (2/2)

interesting taste

Tanya: Can I just say that this drama knows how to frustrate me to no end?! Just when I think the bromance is going to start happening IT BACKFIRES! I seriously needed all caps for that one.

Zombie: You know, I actually spent quite a lot of time this week thinking about you as I watched this bromance almost blossom and then fall spectacularly to pieces. I had a feeling you’d be as frustrated about this as I was. We were so close… SO CLOSE! And now Jae Joon has to be all angry at Hoon and for what? Is Hoon supposed to be responsible for his father’s disappearance? Heck, is Park Cheol even responsible? I think Jae Joon would do well to take a minute and really think about where he wants to lay blame because really, does he sincerely think Hoon’s life in North Korea was all sunshine and rainbow ponies? Jae Joon and Hoon

Tanya: Can I just say that I’m actually proud of both Hoon and Jae Joon this week? They both have goals. They both have things they can lose. While they struggled, neither was willing to give up their morals. I’m all for that!

Zombie: I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed in Hoon, letting Cha Jin Soo scare him into putting Jae Hee before a patient in need BUT since he decided to stop being selfish and did the right thing in the end, I forgive him and applaud both him and Jae Joon for doing what is right, rather than being total selfish pigs. riding bikes

Zombie: So the beans have been spilled and the whole world knows that Seung Hee and Jae Hee are one and the same and all I can say is… FINALLY! Now that we’ve gotten that big mystery cleared up we can finally move on with the rest of the story! (And there was much rejoicing… At least on my part…)

Tanya: I’m happy Hoon finally knows so that a portion of the torment has ended. She has still proven herself to be completely evil and I’m 100% going with my theory that she’s been in on this since she was a little girl. There were greater plans working when those two conveniently met as children. Continue reading “HALLYU ZOMBIE DRAMA REVIEW: Doctor Stranger Episodes 9-10 (2/2)”

what we had to go through

Tanya: Oh the twists and turns that Dr. Stranger weaves. Where do we even start this week?! Dopplegangers? Infant surgery? Mystery adoptee? Spy gun fight?

Zombie: I’m not really sure where to start! So much is going on and every time I think I’ve got a tiny bit of it figured out… WHAM! Something happens and I’m right back where I started, with no better idea of what’s actually going on that I already had! Let me just say that because of that I’M LOVING THIS DRAMA! jae hee

Tanya: So… I’m starting to think I was right. Jae Hee was a toy. Now imposter Jae Hee (or possibly actual Jae Hee but we just don’t know yet because it’s super easy to fake or replace medical records) is a toy. Apparently North Korea has time to play all sorts of games.

Zombie: Which means we have no idea what’s actually going on here and I’m not just talking about with Jae Hee… I’m so lost trying to figure out what’s actually going on with the South Korean Prime Minister, the ex-administrator/doctor from the hospital (Dr. Choi) and the creepy North Korean baddie (Cha Jin Soo)… It seems to me they’re all in cahoots but I can’t figure out what their dastardly master plan is. Is the Prime Minister some sort of North Korean agent, whose mission is to become president and then “take over the world,” so to speak?

doc rock 1 doc rock 2

Tanya: I really want to start off talking about Dr. Oh. I’m happy this show has more than one strong female lead and I’m particularly fond of how Dr. Oh’s brother’s constant attempts to irk her always fail miserably.

Zombie: I really want to know what the back-story is between these two. I know that we were given a glimpse into Dr. Oh’s past this week and we now know what her relationship is with her father and how she came to live in his house but we know nothing else. It’s obvious that her step-brother is not fond of her, at all, but has he always been that way? Was there a time that they actually got along but as time has passed, they’ve had a falling out? At this point I’m most inclined to believe that he’s always been a spoiled brat and he’s never liked the fact that Dr. Oh ruined his happy home life and invaded his territory but I can’t say that with any sort of certainty.
