RELEASE THE FANGIRL! CNBLUE “Still”

Still title screenIn a week overrun with B.A.P feels, it would seem that CNBLUE was getting a little jealous, which is probably not why they released yet another Japanese single this week but I’m telling myself that it is anyway.

MUSINGS OF A K-POP FANGIRL: When Dreams Come True

Farewell BABYz 3We all know that being a K-pop fangirl isn’t easy, especially when you happen to be one of the unlucky ones who happens to live half a world away from your beloved idols. We all know the sacrifices we’ve made, skipping sleep to vote for our bias groups as they make their comeback appearances on various music shows… The ridicule we’ve had to endure as those around us scoff at our undying love for a genera of music that makes no sense to them because “you can’t understand the words…”  And the agony we live with, knowing that we’ll probably go our entire lives without ever meeting any of our idols in person…  See? Being a K-pop fangirl is rough but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t come with its own set of rewards.

RELEASE THE FANGIRL! B.A.P Part Two

ATTACKSo this past weekend was pretty much crap. With so many of my friends having a blast at the L.A. K-Pop Festival while I sat home miserable and depressed, I did my best to avoid Twitter because I knew my TL would be full of pics of L.A. and all sorts of K-Pop awesomeness. (It’s best not to rub salt in open wounds, ya know?) But try as I might to abstain from all manner of social media, I failed miserably as certain members of B.A. P kept tweeting about their adventures in New York City. I must admit, the distraction these random tweets provided was much appreciated as it helped me to focus on B.A.P’s upcoming concert, rather than the K-Pop festival I was missing.

RELEASE THE FANGIRL! B.A.P Live on Earth U.S. Attack

Farewell BABYz4So as I was strolling through YouTubeland last night, looking for new K-Pop tunes, I stumbled across a gem of a video from B.A.P that sent me into a fangirl tizzy like you would not believe. Though the video lacks translation, it’s not difficult to understand what they’re saying as I watched it, I slowly melted into a squishy mess of fangirl goo.

TUNE OF THE WEEK: Eric Nam “Ooh Ooh”

titleI’m gonna be honest here, I had the hardest time trying to figure out which song should be this week’s featured tune and after much deliberation (with no real conclusion) it came down to me asking my tweenager to decide between Eric Nam and BTS (very scientific, I know) and “Ooh Ooh” was the winner. So here you go, this week’s featured tune… Eric Nam’s “Ooh Ooh”

HALLYU ZOMBIE DRAMA REVIEW: Bride of the Century Episodes 13-14 (1/2)

finally show your true colorsIt never fails with this drama, just when I think I’ve got this drama all figured out… WHAM! Something comes up, out of nowhere, and throws a great-big-giant monkey wrench into all of my well-thought-out ideas and I’m left wondering just what the heck is going on… Which is probably why I love Bride of the Century  as much as I do. Just when you think it’s going to become a more typical (and therefore predictable drama) it surprises you by becoming something so much more than you expected.
