K-POP ATE HER BRAIN: ASTRO IS HERE!!!

2

As I’m sure many of you know, I’ve spent an inordinate amount of time squealing over the boys of ASTRO and most of that was done between the time they were first announced as a group way back in August 2015 and now. I blame it on the fact they had to make an appearance in a silly little web drama before they made their official debut. You know how I get when I’m watching adorable boys be adorable in a drama… My heart… It just does funny things, all on its own! Continue reading “K-POP ATE HER BRAIN: ASTRO IS HERE!!!”

K-POP ONE-STOP: February 19-16, 2016

3

As I’m sure most of you have noticed, I’ve been very slacking on my blog posts. Not so much because I’m a slacker but because with the start of the new year came the start of a new job and it’s taken me a while to adjust to being a working mom and a blogger and a full-time drama-addicted K-Pop fangirl. I’m still trying to get this whole thing figured out and, admittedly, it’s taken me a whole lot longer to adjust than I thought it would but what can I do? Life demanded I get a job so here I am. In an effort to keep doing what I love and share as much of that love with you, I’m going to be trying out some new things and this re-vamped K-Pop One-Stop is one of them. It’s surprising how much time it takes to embed each MV into a post and since time is something I find myself running out of on a daily basis, I’m giving this a whirl. Introducing… (this is where you insert the drum-roll and fanfare) Continue reading “K-POP ONE-STOP: February 19-16, 2016”

TUNE OF THE WEEK: B.A.P “Feel So Good”

8

You know, a lot of really good music came out this week which made it really hard to pick just one song to squeal over but ultimately, my love of B.A.P won out which means I’m about to make a fangirl mess of myself as I talk about their latest release, “Feel So Good.” Continue reading “TUNE OF THE WEEK: B.A.P “Feel So Good””

EXO in Chicago: A Zombie’s Recap of the Day She Died

exoluxion

I have an ever-growing bucket list designated just for K-Pop which really, is more like a wish list of groups I want to see in person before I die, and on that list EXO has ranked high for a very, very long time. So when it was announced all those months ago, that one of the stops EXO would be making during their North American tour was Chicago, well, I very nearly dropped dead right then and there. However, I somehow managed to keep myself together long enough to buy a ticket (which also nearly killed me) and endure the endless countdown of days that ultimately brought me to D-Day. Concert Day. Better known as the day the zombie and about 4,000 other fans lost their hearts to the eight adorable members of EXO that fateful Friday night. TUNE OF THE WEEK: WINNER Takes All

2

You know, I didn’t really have a whole lot of interest in WINNER when they first debuted. I don’t really know why, they just never grabbed my heart the way other groups did. Well, okay, that’s not entirely true… Kang Seung Yoon managed to steal my heart long before WINNER made their official debut but the group as a whole just didn’t resonate with my soul the way other groups do. Until now. Continue reading “TUNE OF THE WEEK: WINNER Takes All”

TUNE OF THE WEEK: Zico and CNBLUE

collage

You know that old saying, “when it rains it pours?” It’s a total cliché, I know, but it’s really the best way to describe the past week, especially in terms of new K-Pop releases. There have been so many great songs released over such a short period of time, it’s been impossible for me to choose a favorite. Of course I’m not going to complain about the deluge of great music because that would be stupid but it does make choosing a single tune to talk about rather difficult, which is why I’m going with two songs this week. Continue reading “TUNE OF THE WEEK: Zico and CNBLUE”

K-POP ATE HER BRAIN: CROSS GENE “Noona You”

1

I’m sure most of you know CROSS GENE made their comeback last week with a catchy little ditty called, “Noona, You” (누나 너 말야). I’m also sure most of you know what I’m about to say about this rather fabulous song because you’re saying it with me. If you haven’t a clue where I’m going with this, let me just say it starts with something that goes a lot like this… Continue reading “K-POP ATE HER BRAIN: CROSS GENE “Noona You””

TUNE OF THE WEEK: Teen Top “Warning Sign”

teaser

Do you have any idea how hard it is to pick just one “Tune” when there are so many great songs have been released in the past week!?! It’s nearly impossible! Still, I had to do my best and though there are other songs I really want to squee over, I’m going with Teen Top’s latest release for now because it’s just so darn good! Continue reading “TUNE OF THE WEEK: Teen Top “Warning Sign””

TUNE OF THE WEEK: Jung Yong Hwa x Sunwoo Jung “Hello”

2

I’ve been seeing teasers for this week’s “Tune” for a while now and I’ve been intrigued by the idea of a Yong Hwa x Sunwoo pairing. Now that “Hello” is out, I can say with absolute certainty that this was a very good idea. Continue reading “TUNE OF THE WEEK: Jung Yong Hwa x Sunwoo Jung “Hello””

TUNE OF THE WEEK: Monsta X “삐뚤어질래”

kihyun im

So Monsta X decided to release this little “self-cam” video yesterday and well, 0nce my heart started beating again and I repaired all the windows I’d broken with my high-pitched squealing, I decided I need to make “삐뚤어질래” this week’s featured tune. (Yeah… I may have had a rather intense fangirl moment upon first watching this video… I blame it on being so out of fangirling over the holidays. I needed to make up for lost squees.)
